An initial squad of 12 players have been anounced to represent Southern District in this seasons BankSA shield. Southern has traditionally used this competition as a pathway to help prepare junior players for senior cricket, using a mix of form players already representing the club at senior level and those deemed to have potential to debut in the coming years.
Rhys Barrett (Capt); Sam Overall; Sean Williams; Thomas Cotter-Gilles; Huw Stone; Jack Gwatking; Tom Phillips; Sam Phillips; Jack Clark; Daniel McNicol; Lachlan Garrett; Mitchell Millen
Several places remain up for grabs in the squad, with local club cricketers and eligible Stingray players jostling to fill the final positions that will see the side play 7 matches across 10 days.
The team will train from 3pm Tuesday 4th of January, coached by Lewis Hill and managed by Joel Garrett. Any enquiries can be made to Rose Miller (Junior Coordinator).
