SDCC is spending considerable time and money improving practice wickets, oval maintenance and irrigation throughout September. Times and venues may need to be altered once we have a clearer picture as to the suitability of turf practice wickets. Most training sessions will be coordinated by Abe Moore (High Performance Coach) and Scott Heywood (Senior Coach). We advise players to commence the endurance phase of your fitness program upon receipt of this letter by undertaking two x 45-60 minute individual fitness sessions per week. While many trainings will commence with net sessions focussing on technique development, please come prepared for alternative activities. Bring both spiked and rubber soled trainers.

Please
confirm receipt of this letter by contacting Scott Heywood to communicate your interest or availability for season 2008/09. (When are you first coming to practice?) Alternatively, notify me of circumstances that impact on your commitment to the coming season. (Tell me if you’re not playing.) Should you be unable to attend any preseason training, direct your apologies to Scott Heywood on 0402 049 203 to discuss your circumstances.

PLEASE arrive in time to allow yourself time to prepare so sessions can start on time! Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Scott Heywood (Senior Coach)

Stingrays TV

The clubs Stingray TV channel on YouTube recently ticked over its 10,000th view around 12 months after the first video was posted. Videos featuring the club and its players have been watched on almost every continent on the planet (no confirmation about Antartica yet).

Traditional cricket playing nations feature as prominent downloaders (United Kingdom, South Africa, India etc) but there has also been a raft of other intersting hotspots where videos are popular including Oman, Turkey, Iran, Brazil, Chile and Japan. Strangest of all is why the people of California U.S.A find videos featuring our own Josh Barrett so interesting??? Hundreds of Californian's have logged on in the past year to catch up on JB's cover-drive...

In Australia the demographics suggest that the audience is 89% male, between the ages of 25 and 55. World wide the ladies are far more interested than at home, accounting for almost 30% of the audience. All video's can be seen at our online sports channel at:
