Tanner Appointed Club Captain

Talented all-rounder Shaun Tanner was appointed as club captain at a club management committee meeting during the week. Shaun takes over from Simon Roberts who resigned the position after skippering the club through the past two seasons.

In a smooth succession, Shaun promotion to club captain follows two seasons as Simon's vice-captain, and outright captain of the T20 side. Previously he captained Port Noarlunga to a premiership before returning to grade cricket with the Stingrays. Shaun was a part of the grade cricket team of the year last season, the only spinner chosen in that side.

Jason Riley will continue in his position as B grade skipper after leading his disciplined side to an emphatic premiership win. Club coach Abe Moore has also been reappointed for the upcoming season.

The new season is fast approaching, with spacious new home change-rooms being fitted out and a high quality new hard wicket training facility being built, the club is moving forward on and off the field.
