Committees in Full Swing with Season Preparations

The Managment Committee, Men's Cricket Committee, Women's Admin and Cricket Committee, Junior Admin and Cricket Committee are all working to ensure all areas of the club are well prepared for the start of season 2011-12.
The Senior Managemnt Committee has met on 4 occassions since the AGM, including 3 monthly Management Meetings and a Strategic Plan review meeting. Key areas such as sponsorship, volunteers, budget preparation, Febluary, SACA liaison, Junior parental involvement, working with affiliated cricket clubs and the anticipated hard wicket renovations were seen  as priorities. A redrafted Club Strategic plan will be drawn up and available to members via the website.

As you can see the Senior Cricket Committee headed up by Paul Charman, with Bob lisle and new recruit Richard Ridley have worked with Senior Coach Abe Moore and Dean Chambers to ensure the men's pres-season is in place.

In a new approach to the running of our Juniors Tania Scott and Bob Lisle have set up a Junior Admin Committee and a Junior Cricket Committee, both committee's have recruited assistance from willing parents. Much has already been achieved. Selection Policy, Codes of Behaviour, Subs and Uniforms, Welcome to Southern District Cricket Club pamphlets are being drawn up. Any one interested in assisting can approach Tania Scott.

The Women's Committee has also been active and similar to the Juniors having set up a Women's Admin Committee and a Women's Cricket Committee. Sharon Rattray and David Kempe have been instrumental in managing this change.

The Hard Wicket Project will commence in the second week of August and subject to weather will be completed in two weeks.

With the new changerooms completed an official openning ceremony will conducted at the first schedule Women's game at Bice Oval.
