Gary Putland Academy Trials Begin Sunday Feb 28th

Southern District Cricket Club trials for the "Gary Putland Academy" begin this Sunday at Bice oval with registration from 8:30am. Primary school aged children (U13) are invited to attend the trials, which also continue over the following two Sundays March 7th and 14th.

The trials are designed to attract the best young cricketers in the Southern area, provide specialist one-to-one training, and the opportunity to play in the Ray Sutton Shield tournament held in October.

Gary Putland is the latest Southern District player to represent South Australia in the first class arena and is a product of the Stingrays junior ID pathway having represented the club since U13 Ray Sutton teams.

Gary was quoted as saying he felt humbled to have the academy named after him and hopes to be involved in the specialist one-to-one coaching of successful juniors if time allows.
