Putland To Make First Class Debut

Southern District quick Gary Putland will make his first class debut at the WACA on Monday after being selected for the shield game against the Warriors.

When asked about Putland's inclusion in his first shield game, Redback coach Mark Sorrell said "Gary has been really good. Was good right through the T20, has had some good one-day performances and hopefully he can carry that through to the Shield game now too."

The Redbacks might not have a Doug Bollinger or Stuart Clark, but Gary Putland, Peter George and Jake Haberfield could find plenty in the wicket. South Australia coach Mark Sorell expects it to be a result pitch with both teams needing the win.
