Febluary

Once again this year the Southern District Cricket Club along with the South Australian Cricket Association and the Beyond Blue organisation brings a focus to the issues of mental health within the community through the FeBLUary initiative.

Fern Nizzola and his sub-committee including joint initiators of this wonderful program Vanessa Kasbergen and Russell Vincent have again put the wheels in motion to raise the communities awareness of mental health.

Events include the annual Police versus a Southern District Foundation Eleven being played on Thursday FeBLUary 10 at Bice Oval, game commences at 5:00 pm, BBQ, canteen and clubroom facilities will be open. Everyone is invited to take part in this great community event.

This is followed on Saturday the 12 of FeBLUary with the Comedy Night, this is a chance to laugh at life and enjoy the company of fellow club members and community supporters of this event. $20 entry to this event that is targeting the over 18 members of our community and again lifting community awareness.

SACA have organised the launch for the state wide FeBLUary program on Sunday the 6th at Adelaide Oval, Russell Vincent will assist with this launch. Visit the SACA website for more information. http://www.cricketsa.com.au/content.aspx?p=284

Russell has gained significant support from a wide range of business's in the Southern area who have agreed to carry Beyond Blue information in their business's. This support helps spread the message and is much appreciated. We would especially like to thank Travel World for their commitment to this event.

All our players will be issued with a blue Stingrays hat for the match on FeBLUary 19 to continue the clubs commitment to the program.

Lend your support and get behind all the initiatives and raise awareness for the issues of mental health and depression.
