Round 2 vs East Torrens

Round 2 saw the A grade win the toss and elect to Bat first at Campbelltown oval. After losing round 1 hero JB (being bowled above) in the first over the stingrays needed to start the rebuild early. Scores of 43 to Nick Bowen, 53 to Rhys Barrett, 37 to skipper Shaun Tanner  left us at 9/218. However Andrew Staunton (56) and Huw Stone (24 not out) came together for a 67 run last wicket stand to post a score of 285. A good bowling and fielding performance next week will go a long way to defending our total.

The B grade will resume at 4/60 chasing 160 next week. Dean Miller on his return to the club taking an exceptional 7/50 and supported by some great bowling by Sean Williams. Still work to do but hopefully a good batting display from the middle and lower order will get the job done.

In a similar score the c grade will resume at 3/30 chasing 150. This game is also in the balance but with a lot of hard work early in the day we can hopefully take home the points here too.

The D grade struggled at the high school only making 48. East Torrens made 3/112 in reply and threw us back in at the end of the day. We are 0/21 the second time around and will need to bat most of the day to avoid outright defeat.

To players Please also start to think about getting your subs paid. It's very important for the club to get funds in. If you haven't looked into player sponsorship this is still an option but if not please look to pay them soon or work out a payment plan with the club. For any further information please have a chat with B-Mac.

Thanks
