Senior Results Round 2

Round 2 week 2 against East Torrens and the A Grade were defending a decent total of 285. We rocked up second week to find a very flat Campbelltown wicket and knew we would have to toil away to take 10 wickets for the win. English Import Lewis Hatchett provided us the 1st wicket at 44 but it proved to be the only highlight of the morning session as East Torrens got to 1/88. The second session saw the game swing completely in our favour as Shaun Tanner broke the partnership at 2/122. New A grade coach Andrew Staunton then took over picking up the key wicket of Jake Lehmann and then two overs later running through the middle order to claim a hat-trick. The game was ours from there as we bowled them out for 171. Staunton with 6/40 from 16 overs and Hatchett finished with 3/44 from 23. A good win for the A's and a 2-0 start to the year

The B grade started the day needing 100 to win with 6 wickets in hand but couldn't get the job done unfortunately. Sean Williams top scoring with 32. The second innings saw a game set up and it went down to the wire with the target at 177 from 34 overs. Dave Sboro top scored with 68 from 76 and the score ended at 9/172 with Both sides just short of outright points.

The C Grade were chasing 160 and were bowled out for 74. Not many highlights to speak of unfortunately. Both sides had a second innings but neither side could muster outright points. Bowling very good for the C Grade but still lots of work to do with the batting.

The D Grade were trying to avoid outright defeat on the second week but couldn't get the job done. Falling for 104 in the second innings. Austin Zrim providing the main resistance scoring 57 from 174 balls but it was a lone hand. Once again plenty of work to do in the batting department to get us into winning positions.

Get out to training this week as we prepare to play Sturt in a Saturday/Sunday game this weekend.
