Round 5 Results

Round 5 was a one day match against woodville.

The A Grade were at Bice oval and minus skipper Shaun Tanner in a crucial clash between 2nd and 4th. Josh Barrett took over as captain and after winning the toss proceeded in putting on a clinic batting the entire 50 overs to finish 117 not out with the stingrays finishing 8/220

In response a good team bowling display restricted woodville throughout the middle overs and they were bowled out for 188. Rhys Barrett the chief destroyer with 3 wickets. The A Grade are 4-1 going into a big game with Kensington this weekend.

The B grade lost the toss at Woodville oval and found themselves in the field. A great bowling display saw them
Dismiss woodville for 122 with Tom Hynes and Sean Mcivor taking 3 wickets each. They then made light work of the chase winning by 7 wickets with 19 overs left. Old timer Jason Riley top scoring with 48 not out. An important win keeping the B grade in the hunt

The C Grade won the toss and batted first but didn't make the most of their opportunity being bowled out for 138. Patrick Jolly making an important 65 not out to make the score competitive. In reply Woodville reached the target 7 down. Corey Mcivor and Mitch Cuming with 3 wickets each.

The D grade have had a tough start to the year but had a fantastic win chasing down 237 with 4 wickets in hand. Brad Samarcq took 4 wickets with the ball while Josh McDougall made his first century scoring 101. This was a great result and hopefully a confidence booster which will see the side keep
Improving under captain Steve Miller.

This week we have a Saturday/Sunday game against Kensington and a great chance to capitalise on our results over the weekend.
