100 Reasons to celebrate for Peat

A nomination for the Grade Cricket Rising Star has coincided perfectly with 21st Birthday celebrations for Southern District’s Andrew Peat.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Southern District started shakily against Port Adelaide in their Round 3 encounter at Bice Oval. Coming to the crease at 5/122, the right arm medium pace bowler played a dominate innings hitting 13 boundaries during his 152 minute stay at the crease. At stumps, Peat had guided the Stingrays to 7/269, finishing with a personal tally of 103 not out. The centurion then picked up figures of 2/35 from 7 overs to help secure first innings points; the Magpies being bowled out for 149.

Peat joined the Stingrays in the Ray Sutton Shield, before moving through the Under 14 and Under 16 grades (as well as also appearing in the BankSA Shield). Peat played his first senior game in the D Grade in season 2002/03, and debuted in the Stingrays' A Grade last year.
